Wolford stagehand.

Biography

S4E4 - Midge continues to wage an uphill battle trying to improve the working conditions at the Wolford. She stands next to Russell, who is sorting nuts and bolts, and watches as today's dancers, garbed in gnatty costumes with missing components, lethargically go through the motions of the finale. She is confused because there was supposed to be another act still, but Russell explains that one of the dancers, Lidia, moved back to Ohio unexpectedly. At the end of the act, the curtain fails to descend. Midge seeks help from Russell, but he tells her that this is neither of their problems.

S4E8 - When the Wolford is raided, Russell grabs both sets of books and makes a bee-line for the exit.

S5E1 - At the Stage Deli, the patrons eat a Thanksgiving dinner consisting of things brought in by various people from the neighborhood. Dinah grows frustrated as she attempts to arrange a group saying of grace, but is mocked and ignored by patrons including Billy Jones and Russell.

Quotes & Dialogue

MIDGE: Russell, is this the finale already?
RUSSELL: Yep.
MIDGE: But there was supposed to be another act. What happened to Lidia?
RUSSELL: Lidia moved back to Ohio.
MIDGE: In the last hour?
RUSSELL: Life's full of surprises.
MIDGE: She left her snake.
RUSSELL: And her dog.
MIDGE: Never mind. The curtain's stuck.
RUSSELL: It happens.
MIDGE: Yes, but what should we do?
RUSSELL: Hey. I separate nuts and bolts. See? I put nuts with the nuts and bolts with the bolts. You are a stripper who doesn't take anything off and just stands there yelling at people. This is neither of our problems.
MIDGE: Okay, that's not what… Never mind.

RUSSELL: I got the books!
BOISE: Both sets?
RUSSELL: Yep!
– S4E8
DINAH: I'll be leading the whole room in saying grace. You gotta say grace at Thanksgiving, so be ready.
RUSSELL: I don't know grace.
BILLY: I do. Great ass.
RUSSELL: (laughs) He got you.
