S4E1 - Upset with how successful the club has been and how much attention it’s bringing, Mei’s parents send Li Wei to pull Joel downstairs so Mei can tell Joel to stop. However, Mei sides with Joel.

S5E1 - Hopped up on grief over losing Mei and the baby, Joel gets drunk before showing up late to his own club, eventually going down to the basement parlor and confronting her father, who orders two of his goons to beat Joel up, then tells him to go back upstairs.
