Biography
S1E2 - Attended class the morning after Joel left Midge. Protested Abe’s unwillingness to call on anyone but Truman, despite the fact that he himself did not have the answers.
S2E3 - In class, Lance tries to look smart by bringing up Georg Cantor’s work on infinity. Abe shuts this down, however, and immediately segues into talking about Henri Poincaré, earning Lance a smug glance from Truman. Abe then realizes that he has to leave early to meet Rose, so he continues the lecture on the move until he reaches the class and is bowled over by the sight of a nude model, promptly ending the lecture.
S2E9 - Abe lambasts Abbie, Lance and the rest of his Advanced Differential Equations class when they dare to call him out for being late, his anger exacerbated by Truman’s absence and the stalling of his Bell Labs project.
S3E7 - Feeling nostalgic, Abe returns to Columbia, where he finds Professor Lerman teaching his old class, greets his old students (including Abbie, Truman and Lance), and gives an inspirational speech.
Quotes & Dialogue
LANCE: You never call on me. You never call on anyone. You only ever call on Truman.
ABE: Truman knows the answers. Truman always knows the answers.
LANCE: Yes, but we could know the answers.
ABE: Really? Did you?
LANCE: No.

LANCE: In my spare time, I've been thinking about the very nature of infinity… w… what it infers, what it portends.
ABE: Yes, yes…
LANCE: And for that reason, I was wondering if you had any insight on a true hero of mine, uh, the great German mathematician Georg Cantor and his prodigious work, which included his theory on the infinity of infinities.
ABE: Georg Cantor. I'm really glad you brought him up, Lance. I love that you did that. Because he reminds me of a man that I actually do care about, and that's the great mathematician Henri Poincaré.

LANCE: Professor Weissman?
TRUMAN: Give him air, guys, give him air!
LANCE: Yeah, he just saw a naked man.

LANCE: Are we dismissed?

ABE: And for the last time… where is Truman?
LANCE: He's transferred.
ABE: Transferred? Why?
LANCE: His mother said it was taking too much out of him.
– S2E9
ABE: And Kevin.
LANCE: Lance.
ABE: You're holding yourself well.
LANCE: I'm taking boxing lessons.
ABE: Really?
LANCE: So that no one will ever pick on me again.
ABE: Wonderful. I wouldn't want anyone to do that.
