S1E1 - Baz accepts a brisket from Midge in exchange for giving Joel a good slot to perform at the Gaslight.

S1E1 - On the night the Clearys come to see Joel perform, Baz is absent and the bookings are left to Susie, so Joel is screwed out of a good slot.

S1E8 - Eddie alludes to the fact that Baz has been away and Susie has stepped up in his absence. He mentions the tundra as a possible current location he might be.

BAZ: So, I’m guessing your husband doesn’t like his slot tonight.

BAZ: Okay, 10:30. Next time, bring some latkes.

EDDIE: Susie, listen to me. You've done a good job here with Baz off in the tundra, or wherever the hell he is. But I need you to stand down for a while.
